Sheesst ........ Peachtree 2007 questions already yet ........ :-/

one of my customers who updated to Peachtree 2007 has now subsequently updated
his file server, by copying all his data file directories over to the new file
server. But now Peachtree can't find the data files.

How does one change the "Gateway" locater.

Apparently, there is no "How to" in Peachtree 2007 help?

thks,

Ted,
I had a similar issue and even though the drive was mapped to the same
letter, it would not find the data.

I had to go to the registry and change the setting there - I'm sorry I
can't give you the exact location, as this was at a customer's
computer, not personal. but, I do remember that it listed the server
by name and not just the mapped drive letter.

Hope this helps.

yes, it is a gateway locator issue. see info for "workgroup engine" at
www.pervasive.com.
This also establishes the machine that is the (data) server, as
Pervasive workgroup can also run in peer-to-peer.
Avoid articles on the "server engine", which does not use a "gateway
locator".

Thank you for the suggestion.

I emailed my customer as follows:

News Group response suggest that you search the registry for the old
computer's name
and replace it with the new computer's name, or alternatively, rename the
computers, and
let the new one assume the old computer name.

Now the plot thickens with his reply

Well that worked, now at least I am seeing the database. What I did was rename
the new computer to the same as old computer and also changed IP address.
The problem I am having now is the same as when I first installed 2007.
When I try to sign in it says that I am already signed in as that user
(no matter which user I use). To correct this the last time I had to uninstall
2007 do a registry clean and then reinstall.

Tried that this time with no luck. Any ideas?

So, ....... hmmm ....... now what?
