I have an existing RMS v.1.3 installation on a server and I need to add to
this installation 2 more databases to cater for 2 separate stores, I need to
have 3 separate store databases on the server.

I recently purchased a 1-User license and a 2-User license copy of RMS v2.0.
I got one license string for the 1-user license and 2 license strings for
the 2-User license.

How do i add these databases to my server so that i can have 3 separate
stores co-existing?

And furthermore if i upgrade my existing rms v1.3 to 2.0 will my existing
license and hardware key (the dongle) still work?

Regards,
Terry

hi Terry,

You can create the each store database on server as you create in normal as
both version are different, I am not sure you are using the HQ or not but if
you wanted to make it work 1.3 and 2.0 with one HQ version then it won't work
but at the level of stores it will work and doesn't matter one store has 1.3
and another has 2.0

Regarding the upgrade from 1.3 to 2.0 the major change what I can see is
license key and I think microsoft stop dongle or any device level license
(haven't received yet the version at my site) but evaluation edition works on
key base.

Again your co-existings of different version to one HQ version won't work as
far as 3 different database you have no problem.

Hi Terry,
When you upgrade from 1.3 to the RMS 2.0 you will no longer need the dongle
(Nor will it work), microsoft should send you a license key to use when you
install the rms 2.0.

I didn that few months ago and had no issues, from what I remember you will
be asked to upgrade your MySQL version but that is not a must.
