Auto Settle Credit Card Batch Mark 03-23-2006

Look, I have given up doing surveys that Microsoft has requested because I
don't think they are listening and I have given up expecting anthing from
them in terms of giving us anything major in RMS. But if they don't give us
anything else, could they please just give us the ability to have credit card
batchs auto settle nightly. I understanding this can be done through
security and hotkeys and all of that, but come on, this should be automatic
and the store employees should not have to get involved in it, unless it
doesn't settle successfully.

Mark, what was the problem with the PCCharge Auto Settle? I am getting ready
to implement that for one of my customers. The documentation seems pretty
straight forward.

running rms and never have a problem. Just followed the documentation, set
the settlement time for 2am and it works fine.

I spoke with Brian at PC_Charge today, he is very knowledgeable, about this
issue of auto settling. He says PC_Charge does not "support this" although
it can be made to work. The problem is that if ther is an error in the batch
process and the mgr/owner does not run the reports and see that there is an
error, everything runs into the next day and there is the possibility that
transactions may be lost. Apparently they have had may problems with this
issue and they try to discourage users from not using this feature.
