Does anyone else think that MS should add the option to have the EDC settled
automatically at a preprogrammed time?

We are a Deli location and I've had to setup a separate login for employees
to use that only allows them to go into Manager and settle the EDC batch.
They have logout on POS, log back in with this user ID so that then they
have the privilege to exit the POS. Then, they have to log into Manager,
settle, exit, then reopen POS.

Stand-alone terminals give the option of auto closing at the end of the day,
why not RMS?

Why don't you set up your users to have access to the EDC batch on their
individual accounts? You can give them 'Manager Rights' and a 0 security
level or something, and then secure the drop screens with the Ctrl+Alt+S
option for that.

I actually do not think that an auto settle of the EDC is a good option (at
one point I thought that) because when you have a transaction that is an
error, that is it, the EDC would have settled. I see what you are saying
about time, but still. It is very easy to just secure your system.

I would love to see this feature available in RMS. It would be extremely
valuable to us. I don't really understand any arguments I've heard against
it. Simply make it enabled or disabled through a configuration option.

Do a suggestion; I'll vote for it.

I thinks its an issue with the processor, not RMS.

Host based (I thinks that's the one, I always get them confused) systems =
require one to close. RMS uses Vital which is host based
