Hi,

My HQ database and Store database is sitting on different server. HQ on full
SQL 2000 server and Store on MSDE. When using administrator account, I can
connect to both. When using user account, I can only connect to HQ, Store
database is intermittent (most of the time, unable to connect).

I have tried Windows XP Home edition and Windows Pro edition. Both have this
problem. I have to give the user administrator rights to the PC in order to
connect to Store database. HQ does not have this problem.

Please help. Thanks.

Raymond

There are some stuff you have to know about Windows XP way to autheticate
users, go to local policy group and set user authentication to classic mode
(default is that all users autheticate himself as guest).
Bad idea to use Xp Home.
Via Enterprise Manager you have to set right for user (Administrators group
are granted by default to access all databases), if have not EM you have to
use the command line tool OSQL (good luck....)

P.S.
Sorry for my english
