Does anyone know if Cherry Keyboards 7000/8000 are compatable with MSPOS? and
if so what are the steps to program it?

Pete,

Yes, they do work. We use them at our store. Here are the instructions. I
hope they are helpful.

Cherry Keyboard Programming Instructions for RMS
Keyboard Models 7000/8000

Important Note: When programming any of the following sequences, do not use
the Numeric Keypad unless specified. Any numbers that you program must be
from the alphanumeric (QWERTY) side of the keyboard.
After every line of code listed below, you should get a message. If not,
immediately press the Enter in the Numeric Keypad and start that programming
string again.

Step 1:
Close all programs and open an editor such as Notepad or go to a DOS Prompt

Step 2:
Enter program mode by holding down the following six key combination until
you hear two beeps and ***MENU ENTRY*** is displayed in your editor.
Ctrl (left) ,Shift (left), Alt(left), Ctrl (right), Shift (right), Alt (right)

Step 3:
Program the Magnetic Stripe Reader

Press:        J then 1 then N
Press:        J then 2 then Y
Press: V then 6 then ; then ENTER (on NumPad)
Press: W then 6 then ENTER (on alpha) then ENTER (on NumPad)

Step 4:
Exit Program Mode
Press:        Spacebar (you should see ***MENU EXIT***)

I know that it works for RMS but does it for MS POS which is a different
product.

My bad, I didn't read your post close enough. I'm not familiar enough with
MSPOS to know if they will work with it.
