Closed Batch - No Z-report Ken Nelson 10-25-2005

Recently we encountered a problem where we have several closed batches on
the same day, on the same register and we do not have a z-report for either
batch.

No one instituted these closures as, I believe, is witnessed by there being
no z-report. Batches on this register have closed since then as usual.

Has anyone ever experienced this and resolved the issue.

Are you sure they're not Blind Closed? Go in to Manager and then Journal
and Update Batch Info.

If you want to figure out who was logged in when a batch got blind closed,
you could check the Cashier Log report.

If the batch was properly closed, then you can open that batch in the
Journal Viewer, then press End to view the last receipt, which should be the
Z Report. Look on the left under Receipt Information for the Cashier who
generated the Z Report. You can also use the Print button to re-print if
required.

Thank you, I ran a Blind...Report and found a number of Blind Closeouts (BC)
we didn't know we had. We do not practice BC so we have never bothered to
look at this report. There was only about 10 BC, we dealt with them and will
check this report daily from now on.

I just read a posting from "craiga" Subject: Offline Mode / Blind Closeouts
and can now very much relate to his frustration. I had no idea this was
going on and am not convinced it happens every time we go offline. It
definitely didn't use to work that way, I'm not sure when it started.

Thanks again for the help.
Ken
