Could any one clarify if it is possible to take out reports of Customer and
Stock balances as on any previous dates from RMS?

In the case of customer balances my understanding is that for each line item
the reports show the original amount and the balance (this being balance as
on report date). This does not give balance as on a previous date - eg. last
year end balance.

With stock reports again is there a way to take out reports with day end
balances for a previous date - eg: last month or year end balances?

Thanks

Pradeep

RMS does not have an archive process or area in it's database to hold
historical Stock on Hand qty.

If this is the case, then how does one do the following through MRMS:

In a large store, the stock taking process could take more than a day to
complete. When the physical stock taking is completed, this data has to be
compared with the stock as of the date of stock taking. How can this be
achieved if the system does not store the stock details for that date?

If this is really a limitation is the development team working on this?

Thanks

Pradeep,

It can not be done and I highly doubt that MS is working on this.
In order to handle stock taking for a large store you need to plan it out
and do it in stages. i.e. by dept, cat, bin location....
Once a section is completed you commit the changes to inventory. But you
have to be careful if you are selling items during this period as it will
make your physical inventory count incorrect.

A way to speed up the process of stock taking is to use hand held devices
with software from companies such as: New West Technologies, Retail Realm or
Positive Technologies. The amount of man hours you will save should pay for
the system within the first year.
