HI GROUPMATES,

In POS screen when we press f11 ie. recall button , menu opens up with
options like
Recall a transaction from on hold
Recall a transaction for return
Void a transaction
Recall a backorder
Recall a layway
Reacall a quote

I dont want the cashier to select Recall a layway (only one item in the
menu) and do any transactions.

Any possibilites to restrict?

You can use the security function in POS and assign a security level for the
cashier. From Help:
To set up a security level in the POS program

1. On the transaction screen, click on the blank field located to the
left of the F7: Set Customer function key. You should see the Security Mode
icon displayed both on the field that was just clicked and at the top of the
transaction screen.

2. Select the window whose security controls you want to define. For
this example, press F2 to display the Items window.

3. Press Ctrl-S. Each control will be highlighted in either a blue
(control currently as no access restrictions) or red (control currently has
some type of access restriction) color. If you move the cursor over the
controls, Store Operations highlights the selected control in yellow.

4. If you do not want certain cashiers to be able to delete an item at
the point-of-sale, you could restrict access to the Delete button. To do
this, click on the Delete button. You will see the Security window.

5. In the Access Rights table, position the cursor on the applicable
security level and either select or clear the Disable Change option for the
applicable security level. If you select (check) the option, the cashier
assigned to this security level will not be able to delete an item.

6. Click OK.

7. On the Items window, you can set the security access for the
applicable controls.

8. When you finish, press Ctrl-S. You can then display another window
and press Ctrl-S again to assign the security access privileges. Repeatedly
pressing Ctrl-S enables you to switch from assigning security control
behaviors to displaying other windows.

9. After you set up your security structure, click on the Security
Mode icon located on the bottom left corner of the transaction screen to
exit security mode.

hi Xtian,
I think you forget the user has asked he asked for the security for only
layaway and you said the security for something else. I belive standard
feature does not have such thing where we can block by document type. may be
in future release of version it will come. but off course customization can
be done

I don't think you can do this with RMS....ie restrict certain options within
the F11 recall menu...
