Vince,

When are you getting this message?

Sounds like you've entered the wrong password for the database.

Go to SO Administrator | File | Connect | make sure that server says
(local), use SQL Auth is checked, user name is sa, put your password in, put
in your database name, OK.

Now go to File | Configuration | make sure everything is set the way the
Connect tab was and click Test Database Connection. If OK, File | Exit

Hi All,

i have been trying to restore a .bck file on my laptop (as a backup). I have
loaded the .bck by going to the SO Administrator - database | create and
selecting the .bck file. After loading, i try to connect and i get the error
mentioned above "Login failed for user 'sa'

I have double checked the password but it still gives this error when trying
to connect with sql authentication. The server name is (local)

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Cliff,

Look at the thread Administrator / database password. I just posted a way
to change the password.
