Gift Certificate/Voucher Tracking

Our school store just started using vouchers and the business department
needs to see the specific items purchased on the certificate (as to allocate
the money to the apporpriate department like apparel or school supplies). I
tried running a couple of different reports and so far am only able to see
that the gift certificate was puchased and whether there is a balance
remaining. The reports do not seem to show the transaction number the gift
certificate was used on. I thought a detailed sales report would do the
trick, but it does not allow me to filter by tender type. Does anyone know of
a way to pull up the receipts or show a history of what was purchased on a
certificate?

Katie,

Homework, yuck. You will need to create a custom report. Probably best to
start with a Detailed Sales Report as it will show you most of what you want
to see, the items on the transaction and the ability to drill down to the
actual receipt.

Then you need to create a link between the TransactionEntry table and the
TenderEntry table. For that, look at the Tender Summary report. Combine
features (links and columns) from both and you have what you need.

Thanks a lot for your help! I suppose my next assignment is learning custom
reports :)
