I am adding a second lane and will be buying another register computer. Can
I run an Athlon 64 rather than a Pentium and XP Home vs. XP Pro? I am
upgrading to 1.3. 512mb of memory adequate?
Thanks,
Bob

Stick with XP Pro.
RMS will run on XP Home, but Pro is better for networking.
512MB is generally adequate, but more is always better. If you have a
really large number of Items, you may want more.

Bob,
I disagree! ;-)
Athlon is OK
XP Pro only
512 mb is not enough anymore. 1 gig minimum. If its going to be a real =
register machine, you should install MSDE or SQL2K5E for Offline mode. =
In addition, if you are running a motherboard with embedded graphics, it =
can take as much as 128 mb. Add XP on top to that, with nothing else, =
and you are at 768 meg without trying hard.
Sure it will _run_ with 512, it will also _run_ with 256 mg, but I =
wouldn't want to be sitting in front of it! ;-(
Spend the extra $50-75 for the extra 512 mb. You'll be happy you did! =
;-)

Please log in for more thread options Bob,
One more thing, RMS is NOT supported on the 64 bit version of XP Pro.
