I have a POS system that I would like to use without a keyboard. Is there a
way to login to the domain using the touchscreen?

First you need to display the TouchScreen screen. Take a look at the help
screens to find out the specifics. You may need to connect a keyboard as
there are some settings that need to configured in the POS screen.
Once the TouchScreen screen is setup you can use the Numbers and Keyboard
buttons to enter in login information.

If for any reason you cannot connect a keyboard to the computer you can
modify the Registry settings of that machine but be warned making any
changes could potentially ruin your system. The keys that need modifying
are:
Keyboard changed to True
KeyboardWindowHeight changed to a numeric value of the height of the
TouchScreen window you desire
KeyboardWindowTop changed to a numeric value of were you want the
TouchScreen window to start
KeyboardWindowWidth change to a numeric value of the width of your screen
resolution
These have to deal with the position of the POS screen
TransactionWindowBorder changed to equal True
TransactionWindowHeight same as above
TransactionWindowTop same as above
TransactionWindowWidth same as above
These keys are located:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftRetail Management SystemStore
OperationsPOSUserDisplay

An example of position for a 1024 x 768 resolution with the Taskbar hidden
would be:
Keyboard = True
KeyboardWindowHeight = 200
KeyboardWindowTop = 568
KeyboardWindowWidth = 1024
TransactionWindowHeight = 568
TransactionWindowTop = 0
TransactionWindowWidth = 1024
TransactionWindowBorder = True

Anthony,

If you are running XP, try the on-screen keyboard. Start | Programs |
Accessories | Accessibility | On-Screen Keyboard

That's still not going to get him logged into Windows though - you have to
be logged in before the Start menu is available.

There may be some third party utilities out there that will display an
onscreen keyboard for Logon. There may be a way to get the Windows On Screen
Keyboard to launch automatically, but a quick Google search just sort of
hinted at it - you'd have to dig a lot deeper to get it working.

If all else fails, you could get a copy of Windows XP Tablet Edition and
install it - it automatically displays it's own onscreen keyboard at Login
(this is a differnt keyboard than the one under Accessories/Accessibility).
