Hi! I sometimes donate a gift certificate to my business. Now, in order to
register that particular gift certificate, i have to associate the money
amount with the gift certificate number, ie sell one. But that would short
me money on the register. Any ideas? M

You could have a non-inventory item with a negative value. You then 'sell'
the voucher and right after put the negative value item on the same
transaction making the total sale $0 but still putting value on the voucher.
You would be able to track the non-inventory item to know how much you are
giving to charity. You could take it one step further and make a voucher
specifically for this, and have the non-inventory item tag along. This would
eliminate the step of adding the non-inventory item manually.

Jeff,

thanks. This is exactly what I was looking for. I have numbered gift =

full control. Great!

Manny,

I would have used 0, because you will never have that number. You never =
know, you may sell number 99999 in the future! ;-)
