When I try to connect to my RMS database using RMS Administrator, I
got the following message:

Cannot open user default database. Login failed.

This happens using any computer on my network, even the server where
this database was installed.

The same issue happens when I try to make a backup.

I also tried to open database in SQL enterprise manager and got the
following message:
---------------------------------------

A connection could not be established to (local).
Rason: Cannot open user default database. Login failed.

Please verify SQL Server is running and check your SQL server
registration properties (by clicking in the (local) node) and try
again.
-----------------------------------

Any help would be greatly appreciated

hi Carlos,
Seems you have entered the password and forgot it, its okay make sure where
the server is installed you login with Administrator account and then if you
are using the MSDE version of SQL server download the SQL server Management
Studio tool and install it then access the database, change the SA password
by login to computer with administrative previliages. and then change
everywhere the password of SA. the SA i given the example you will here use
the user ID and password as mentioned in RMS Admin Setup.

Do let me know if you face any problem

Thank for your response

I got the solution for this :

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/307864?wa=wsignin1.0

It was an issue with the default SQL database.

Thanks anyways!

Carlos
