Next on my list......when we used new item wizard in 1.2, and set attributes
for a matrix item (always color, size and style, in our case), the computer
automatically plugged those into the individual attribute field for each
item. They then showed up on our label format (we have 3 boxes at the bottom
where the color, size and style would be plugged into).

After upgrading to 2.0, those attributes no longer go into the individual
item fields automatically (although they do get plugged into the
description). Any idea how to fix this? Ideally, I'd like them back on the
label as well.......

It is amazing how much I miss that feature, and I am feeling quite forlorn
without it.

Help, as always, is appreciated.....

Kat

Hi Kat,

I'm assuming that your label uses the Sub Descriptions fields (1,2 and 3)

You could change those fields on the label to the Detail Fields (1,2 and 3)
and that should fix it...

However when you select the items that you want to print the labels for...
you cannot use the first option of the label wizard (Print labels for all
items of these types)

Marc,

I am sorry to say that I don't really understand. Yes, the label uses the
subdescription fields 1, 2, and 3. Without the actual subdescriptions going
into those fields on individual components of the matrix item, how will the
label know which color, size and style to plug in? Did something change in
the wording with 2.0 so that I have to change how those fields are named?
When I use "new item wizard" to create a new matrix item in 2.0 they still
are named Subdescription 1, 2, and 3. We always name those subdescriptions,
Color, Size and Style. Then it used to put in Red, M, and 20702. For the next
item in the matrix, the size would change to L, etc......am I making any
sense here? It no longer puts those attributes into the correct
subdescription fields.......Actually, 2.0 doesn't put anything into those
subdescription fields. Will changing the label fix this as well?

Thanks.......
Kat

Hi Kat,

You are correct that sub descriptions are no longer populated by the
dimmension info.

However... if you look at the matrix lookup code for the associated items
you will see the details there.

Those are the fields that will print on the label when using Detail Fields
(1,2 and 3)

In 2.0 instead of replicating info from the dimmension into the sub
descriptions fields... you can now set the sub descriptions for all the
items in the range... perhaps allowing you to use "season", "fabric",
"designer/label/collection" or anything else you might feel is
appropriate...
