I'm trying to setup vouchers using cards with mag strips. My MSR is placing
2 additional characters at the begining and the end of the inserted serial
number. Can someone give an RMS newbie step by step instructions on getting
this set up. We will most likely not sell pre-determined cards. They will
be sold on a customer by customer basis. All input is greatly appreciated.

PS I've read that barcoding the cards is the best way to go, however I
already have the mag strip cards.

Thanks!

Zoo,

If you are going to use them, then you must purchase an additional mag
stripe reader and have it programmed so that the extra characters are not
included in the scan.

This is assuming that you are also attempting to scan regular credit cards
with your current scanner. It can't be setup to do both types at the same
time. The extra characters are needed for regular credit cards.

If that's not the case, then tell us what make and model of scanner you
have.

Jeff... If that's the case, I will print up barcodes on stock and place a
barcode on each card matching the card serial number. Is there a fast way to
create these labels? What kind of label stock should I use?

Thanks again.

Using the label wizard you can quickly creating as many labels as you wish
for your cards.

Zebra has some good label printers.

Zoo,

I would try the free label design program from Avery label
http://tinyurl.com/7mma , create a label with a bar-coded serial number on
it that matches what you are starting with, let the program print labels
with incremental numbers on them and use the smallest label you can. Maybe
a file folder label size?
