Does anybody know about the enhancements and new features in RMS 2.0 which
is supposed to be released in about a week?

I don't understand the "secracy" surrounding RMS, every other MS product has
plenty of press announcing (and bragging) about the new features and
enhancements for upcomming versions way before it's release date Even MS
POS seems to get more press, and they only had to wait for 5 months or so to
get a 2.0 versioin whle RMS users had to wait for over 3 years (...).

If anybody has a link to the "new in this version" document(s) or any other
info related to RMS 2.0 please let me know.

Thank you,

I hear ya.

I did a little googling and found this: (still pretty vague)

http://www.syscom.plc.uk/news-detail.asp?id=253
Version 2.0 will include lots of new features, additional support for
multiple pay methods and hardware devices. Using the latest Microsoft
Dynamics branding RMS can integrate with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains to
provide back office functionality.

Some new features include:

> Enhanced matrix functionality
> Store level cost adjustments sync with HQ
> Addding % discount to mix and match/buy one get one free scenarios
> Quantity on hand filter for purchase orders
> Receipt of purchase orders and item find based on supplier number.

Alex,

For whatever reason, they don't want the info released until the big =
announcement from MS' CEO, Steve Ballmer, at the National Federation of =
Retailers (NFR) conference on the 15th in NYC. They have promised us a =
new website on that date, describing all of the new stuff for both =
programs.

Don't let the 2.0 numbering fool you. 2.0 is really 1.3 with all of the =
hotfixes and some cool new features, but its still got the old UI.

Be careful with what you wish for! ;-(

3.0 in Q1 of 08 will be the big changeover, when the two products merge =
into one codebase.

wow, cool, new features, mix and match, new hardware capability. i can't
wait man. did it take millions or billions to add the mix and match button.
And the signature capture devices drivers which department stores been
using since the 80's.
