One touch key for tendering in RMS Andrea 11-25-2005

I have a client who wants to have faster tendering at the POS. In RMS, you
have to select tender (f12) and enter the payment in the tender field. My
client wants a one touch key (cash for example) that when they press it, it
will tender the sale. They want to remove the steps and have one touch to
complete the transaction.
Can we do this in RMS? Can we create a custom button for cash, etc?

Any other suggestions?
Thanks- Andrea

Make sure that Cash is the first Tender type.
Create a Macro that does this:
1. Ctrl-F3 to create Macro
2. Press 'F12'
3. Press '+' on Numeric Key Pad.
--Depending on the version of RMS in Store Ops Manager you have the option
of Automatically closing the Change window. If thats the case the finish the
Macro, otherwise continue below--
4. Press 'Enter' to close change screen.
5. Ctrl-F3 to Save Macro

They can now press Alt-F1 to tender out the transaction as Cash.

Forgot to mention Terrible Tom has posted a dll that allows you to create a
custom button that calls one of the function keys (i.e. Alt-F1)

Also, see the online help and Knowledge base regarding "Scan Code". This is
really intended to be used with a Programmable Keyboard rather than a Macro,
but you may be able to incorporate it...

Try pressing the + key...should do the trick, it's one key and it's
simple...also instead of the f12 they can press enter on the keypad and have
the tender screen pull up, then press the + key and in two steps they have
completed a transaction.
