I'm debugging an add-in, and I'm seeing what I think is strange behavior from
POS (2.0114). What I'm seeing happens on my development box AND a "clean"
register (has no add-in code of any kind present). It happens regardless of
if the transaction is completed/tendered, or if the cashier does an F8/No
Sale, or if they hit 'ESC' to cancel the transaction (same as F8, in theory).
When "completing" a transaction, here's what happens:
- Enter tender, click 'Ok' (or hit F8 and confirm the cancel)
- Post Transaction window/Change display is shown
- Receipt is printed (or cashier is asked, depending)
- Click 'Ok' to dismiss Post Transaction window.
- Asked to set sales rep for next transaction (<--- This is where it gets
odd)
- Post Transaction window re-appears (?)
- Click 'Ok' to dismiss
- Asked to set sales rep AGAIN.
It's almost like once a transaction is completed, the next transaction is
initialized twice. Once while the last transaction is "posting", and then
again once the post has completed.
After the "print receipt" step (if asked or if set to print automatically),
the customer info and transaction entries for the last transaction are still
visible behind the "Set Sales Rep" dialog. Regardless of what rep is chosen
(or if cancelled), the Post Transaction dialog comes up again, and when it's
dismissed the "Set Sales Rep" dialog comes up again. From there, things
proceed as normal.
It's possible that in the process of posting a transaction RMS tries to
initialize the next transaction twice, that first time being "too early", but
I'm not sure how I could confirm that.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
