I have been installing a new RMS/POS system and setting up the test DB for
training tomorrow. Everything was working properly until I changed the pc
from a domain client to a workgroup client. POS Store Administrator and
Store Manager work properly but Store Operations POS just hangs on startup
and never asked for login or password.

I uninstalled all POS programs including MSDE and reinstalled. The server
that was the domain controller has been removed from the network.

Store Operations POS still hangs on startup and never gets to the logon
screen.

HELP!!!!

I am going to guess that you need to change your servername where the
database lives to an ip address. that should fix it.

On the POS terminal go to SO Admin and put the ip address in the server
field where you set up the database.

Thanks Ozzie for the answer back. I have continued to work on this issue and
now have some new information. The network is clean. I did a system restore
to a good place and discovered that a improperly installed OPOS device was
causing a chain reaction of bad things. I reinstalled the OPOS devices with
good results. I have had to work through bad installation instructions from
the manufacturer and suppliers. I tested my way through the drivers and
found the correct installation instructions for quiet a few new devices that
are supplied by POS-X. Now that most of the driver issues are resolved, I
can continue with this installation.

I also found that making almost any physical peripheral change with RMS can
cause the same issues but.... several restarts later...it resolves itself.
Go figure...
