ScanPal works fine. I rent them each year for year end inventory and I never
had a barcode issue.

I have tried both; the handhelds are nice but a bit pricey. Jeff’s netbook
suggestion is a simple & cheap solution that is very functional.

Thanks!

Thanks everyone. I have 4 netbooks so several people doing inventory. It
seems when several people is doing inventory the sheet dissaperars or is over
written. I was told I should add the notebooks as a cashier this may solve
the problem? Is this true?

Can you give me a more step by step outline of how to do a physical
inventory count with a few laptops.

That would save me soooooooooo much time.

Thanks
Danny

Dan-902,

Each notebook needs its own register number. Each notebook works on its =
own PI worksheet. No two machines can work on the same worksheet at a =
time. See my post to Jameer about some other issues too.

Most customers create a count sheet by Department, so Generate for all =
items in a selected Group. Put a Department in, select the Add button, =
type or scan the ILC and enter a quantity.

When finished select Calculate, double check the counts against the =
expected, if correct, commit the changes. Some like to print the =
Discrepancy report right before committing, if you only want to see on =
the report the discrepancies, add a filter where Delta Qty <> 0
