When I go into "Configure OPOS Service Objects" and select pinpad then test I
get an "Access Denied" error message followed by "Unable to OPEN device
(Error Code: 104). I am getting this message on both of my terminals,
however one of my pinpads displays "READY" where the other one says
"OFFLINE". Is there any good documentation on how to setup and trouble shoot
these pinpads?

Michael,

First, have the pinpad(s) been sent to your processor and had them
encrypted?

Second is it plugged into a serial port on the computer and not a
Serial=>USB cable.

Here's a setup link in CustomerSource; http://tinyurl.com/mx2te

You must be using Outlook Express or some other type of newsgroup reader
to see and download the file attachment. If you are not using a reader,
follow the link below to setup Outlook Express. Click on "Open with
newsreader"
under the MS Retail Management System on the right.

Yes my processor has encrypted the pinpads. I have two pinpads one is
reading ready and the other is reading offline. I am getting a "Access
Denied" message on the workstation that is showing offline. The workstation
that says ready will prompt the user to verify that the amount and then the
customer can put in their pin number but when it is sumbmitted I get a
communication error.

I did open the link and both registers fail on step 8, which is testing the
PinPads. I would think that this would indicate that there is something
wrong with the OPOS driver. I believe my registers are using the following
drivers:

EPSON OPOS ADK Version2.40E SP1 UPOS 1.8
