We have several PD3900U devices installed. The last two have had the
same problems you're describing and I was never able to resolve it. The
others are still working fine. We switched to Epson USB Line displays
and have so far had no problems.

I had the same problem - we disabled the scrolling message from the display,
and it occured less frequently. Their tech support had some suggestions which
we enabled, and the problem is now fairly infrequent - but I probably
wouldn't buy another - Tad

I would think Microsoft should make it so the POS does not crash if the pole
display loses its connection. Pole Displays are not crucial to the POS
process. If the pole display crashes, we should still be able to run
transactions and get the customer out the door. There is no reason the POS
software should lock up due to a Pole display.

We have a different problem with the sme pole display. Maybe one of you can
help.

Since the original install (10 months ago) the pole display will stop
scrolling and lock up. I get a 'write' task on the task bar and have to
re-boot RMS POS to make it work again. Then....... our re-seller's service
guy worked on it and now it seems to work fine EXCEPT that it won't scroll at
all..... eventhough it is set to scroll.

Sounds like there is a conflict linked to the scrolling function moreso than
just the display itself. The service guy is trying to locate software to
completely re-install the pole display. Not sure why that's difficult.

We were just about to buy a Logic Controls USB display for RMS. Anyone know
if the Logic Controls 9000 series fixed this problem?
