I sometimes give customers a % discount on checkout, using the shift - F3
function. I would like to have this discount show up in the sales report I
print out at the end of the day, but there seems to be no field that would do
that? All I could find is Price and Price Sold, which only list dollar
values, not the actual discount given? There's got to be a better solution???

Someone can build you a custom report. If interested, contact sales at
retail hero dot com

That's pretty shocking that a program as sophisticated as RMS doesn't provide
such a simple function. I've never worked with custom reports before and am
kind of frustrated about having to use one for something that seems so
simple. Let's see what they say...

It is a simple function... But one must know how to program it into a custom
report. There's a million of other ways of looking at the data and the RMS
developers cannot create reports with all possible ways to represent the
data. But the system allows to build customized reports if the customer
wishes to see data in a particular way. And that's what your RMS Partner
through whom the software was purchased, is actually supposed to do.Well,
some people purchase the software online from a discount reseller with no
support... now they may understand why they maybe should have done
otherwise.

With all fairness I can suggest a free alternative solution. Export the
standard report with Price and Price Sold into Excel spreadsheet and
calculate the discount as percentage difference in a separate column.

Yes Sabribo, I agree that it should be availble to the end user a way to
"customize" their own reports. To have to constantly get third party add ins
or customized reports is counterproductive for small businesses. We need the
control to "customize" ourselves. Some type of customization center allowing
users to choose fields and build their own reports should be a feature in a
future version.
