After successfully setting up a StoreOPts on a XPPro machine we now are ready
to switch over to running on a Domain so we can use existing company Sql2000
server. We now get an error running RMS unless we login to domain as a user
with admin.privilages. We need to have both Mgr and Cashiers as 'non-admins'
logins.

I think you can have domain logins that are less than administrator, but the
domain account must be added to the admin group on the local machine.

THe network Admin does not want any user acct with 'admin-rites'. Is there
any docs on installing RMS on very secure Domains with very secure
workstations?

you might want to explain what error you are getting and when it shows
up, but just guessing I would say that your SQL Server is configured to
use Windows Authentication only. RMS requires Mixed Mode
authentication. You can see the setting in SQL Enterprise Manager -
check SQL Server books online for steps to switch modes (that's assuming
you survive telling your enterprise DBAs they need to enable SQL logins :)

If this is not the issue, post back with some more details on the error
you receive and what action triggers it...

The error I get is a 'SOPOSUser - App.Error (Application failed to initalize
properly
0xc0...22) right after I clickon SOMGR or POS shortcut. Only if I am logged
into the domain as a user without 'admin-rites'. The SOAdmin attached server
is still the (local) which works fine if not logged into domain or logged
into Domain as user with 'admin-rites'. Is there any Docs on 'suggested
procedure for installing RMS securely on Domain' without giving Daily-Users
'admin-rites'?
