We have two machines running RMS 1.3. We've started seeing this problem
recently on both machines. The receipt will begin printing at the end of a
transaction like normal. Here comes the weird part, if there are only a few
line items the receipt prints fine. However, if there are many line items the
receipt lists all the items but then printing stops and we don't get the
total or the receipt footer. We've tried other report formats, and increasing
the page length in the receipt config screen but neither thing made any
difference.

BMI,

What make and model of printer? How does it connect to the computer serial,
parallel, USB?

Some models of printers don't have a big enough memory for the entire
receipt and can cause problems.

If connecting through the serial port, some computer's serial ports need to
be re-configured, i.e. turn on or off the FIFO buffer

Here's some additional info...

The printers are serial Star SP200's. These printers have been in use for
years and not had this problem. They recently replaced the PC that is the #1
register and has the MSDE and dbs on it. Everything worked fine after the
upgrade except for the receipt printer on the new PC. It would print but
wouldn't open the cash drawer. So we ended up putting a windows driver on it
and then it seemed to work and opened the cash drawer too! Thought all was
good but then this issue came up. Yesterday another guy from my office went
back over there and ended up putting the OPOS driver back in place. With the
OPOS driver the receipt will print fine, they just have to open the cash
drawer manually so now we're back to the original problem with the drawer not
opening...
