Redeeming Gift Certificates

How do I redeem more than one gift certificate (voucher) within the same
transaction? I thought I read something in a previous posting but I can't
find it anymore.
Any help is much appreciated!

I am sorry I can not answer this question but your question promted one - we
are new to POS and we have no idea how to use old paper gift certificates or
sell new paper gift certificates. Have you found a way to record gift certs
without being forced to use First Data?

We use paper gift certificates. I'm not sure of all of the details of
how we do it (I just pay the bills and handle all the techie stuff -
my wife and daughter handle the day-to-day operation), but I believe
we sell the gift certificates as a serialized item where we can track
them. We then also have a tender type of gift certificates defined
that when one is redeemed, that is how we do the "tender" and close
out the sale.

Hi Sue - in order to sell and redeem your paper gift certificates and track
balances of these in RMS you need to set up a gift certificate voucher item
and a gift certificate tender (type voucher) - it's a little "convoluted" and
its midnight and I need to hit the sack, otherwise I'd give you a step by
step on what to do - but do this - in store operations manager click on help,
click on the index tab and enter "voucher" click DISPLAY on the bottom - the
help guide is actually fairly good in RMS ....if you still need help after
viewing the help guide, repost and we'll get back to you - hope this helps....

Al,

Go into Store Op Manager - Database - Tender Types. Highlight Gift
certificate and click properties. Check the box to allow multiple tenders.
You will probably have to close POS then open it again for the change to
take effect, but then once you enter the 1st Gift Cert. a second Gift cert.
line will appear.
