All out there with online RMS Shopping Cart solutions. Can you list
here why your cart website hosting is secure and why a large
corporation would want to host with you? There seems to be two
primary players out there Kosmos Central and Nitrosell, but there are
a couple more that seem very SKETCHY. Maybe Kosmos, Nitrosell and the
other's can win me and the public over!

Even with all that VERY HIGH END equipment and network security you
still have to monitor your software and keep up with the recommended
updates.
Hosting features, security and site monitoring.
http://www.kosmoscentral.com/web-hosting/features.php
Kosmos Central has partnerships with 3rd party software security
scanning services that will monitor and scan not only your cart, but
any additional software you may have. Vulnerabilities can arise from
a blog, forum, newsletter system or a simple script you have uploaded
to your site. If you're not consistently using Kosmos services to
upgrade your software you'll be leaving your website vulnerable to
hackers. With kosmos maintenance and support, Kosmos will assist in
monitoring and upgrading all of your software and not just your
shopping cart. Without keeping your software updated you'll leave
yourself vulnerable to hackers, spammers and phishing attacks to your
site.
You have the option to also manage your own hosting and cart with
Kosmos, but why take on those headaches? Is it worth the savings?
Maybe if you already have the staff and capabilities to secure your
own software and server. With Kosmos Central Managed server hosting
we'll set up and manage your own dedicated server so you don't' have
to. With Kosmos maintenance and support Kosmos will also make sure
your website is secure and consistently scanned for new
vulnerabilities.

Thank you for your Reply Alex, can anyone offer some feedback about
Nitrosells servers and software? Who else has a secure RMS solution
besides Kosmos?

Hi Nick, from my understanding and paperwork I've received for clients
here's what Nitrosell has.
1) Server clusters or a Nitrosell web farm. Nitrosell state they are:
1) Securely housed (where?), please provide information.
2) Have redundant connections. How many, how big and who are the
providers? Nitrosell doesn't state specifics in their marketing
material.
3) Proactive network management tools to monitor network for
resiliency, efficiency and fault protection etc.
4) HVAC system to keep servers cool and circulate air.
5) Conditioned power in the unlikely event of a power outage. UPS
power system is N +1 redundant. They also state they have an on site
diesel generator, too.
6) Enterprise class routing equipment serving server clusters.
I'm assuming all of Nitrosell's equipment is located in their
facilities and not housed in a data center. Nitrosell can you shed
some light on this? I'm hoping my info is correct so maybe Nitrosell
can shed some light on this too.
As far as the software is concerned since they manage the core code
100%, Nitrosell will not allow you to modify the core code or add
software and additional modules. By restricting this type of access
Nitrosell is prevenitng you from accidentally making your site
vulnerable to hacking. Kosmos on the other hand gives you full access
to all the code and you own it. You get a webmaster control panel to
manage your hosting account, add/modify software along with full
database access. So, even thought you can add blogs, forums etc to
your hosting account at anytime, if you fail to keep up with the
recommended updates, your software can potentially get hacked. A good
webmaster will always keep up on his recommended software updates.
Kosmos has a service like Nitrosell that will automatically do this
for you based on your maintenance plan etc, or you choose to do this
your self. Nitrosells software is basically on lock down and when a
vulnerability is found in the Nitrosell cart they will fix it
automatically. Nitrosell, like Kosmos also are partners with web
vulnerability software like Hacker Safe etc, which will scan and
locate old software on the servers to make sure they are updated when
new vulnerabilities are present.
That's it in a nut shell, any more light on this would be helpful.
