Simple way to enter UPC's for Matrix Item Kris 04-14-2006

A majority of our items are Matrix type (we sell shoes and apparel). We
store our UPC's as Aliases. To do this we have to open every individual
matrix component, select the Alias tab, scan the UPC then save - it is a
tedious process. Is there any way to open the matrix components as a group
and just scan the UPC for one size into a column, hit the down arrow, scan
the UPC for next size, and so on - similar to what we used to do in Quicksell?

The easiest way would probably be to export a list of you Matrix Items to
Excel and scan your UPC codes for each line. Then import the Aliases using
the QSImport utility.

Kris,

You can do this in Power Ops if you have installed Matrix Master.
Press Ctrl-M to view the matrix class codes, then double-click on the matrix
you want to edit.
Select Edit Matrix, Edit component items, enable Lock ILC, then scroll to
the right until you reach the UPC column.
Scan in a UPC, down arrow to next item in the matrix, scan in a UPC, down
arrow to next item, etc.
You can batch update any of the other attributes this way too (SRNs,
restocking levels, prices/costs, sub-descriptions).

Greg,

Thanks, I was hoping that was the case. I just upgraded to RMS from
Quicksell and I have purchased Matrix Master, we just haven't started running
it yet.
