If i wanted to see what my stock value was on a given date, e.g. 01st July
2007 is it just a case of running an item value report for the required
date?

Philip,

I think that to get an inventory value at some time in the past you must
take the current inventory and undo all movement back to the date you wish.
I don't think you would do this in Active Reports. You could do it in
Crystal, but it would be a complicated and slow running report. I have not
tried it yet, though we could use it around here. If there is a better way
to get at this information, I would like to know it.

These are far from perfect options...

Periodicaly print on paper a summary report of your item value report.

Periodcaly export your item value report... and then import into a workbook
in Excel or better... load it into Access.

And... if you backup regularly... restore the file for that date... or
closest to the date... and run the movement report.

I hope these help a bit.
