Hi There

One of our stores computer system has crashed and that stores "store level"
database has been lost.

We still have 2 other stores working properly and all are conneccted by HQ.

Is it possible to start with a fresh database at the problem store and send
down all that stores info (including that stores codes, QTy's, costs, sales
history Etc) from HQ?

we are currently running HQ 1.3 and RMS 1.2

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Matt - couple things
- Get all your stores on the same version - not good if HQ is 1.3 and
store(s) is 1.2
- If your other stores are not backing up locally, search this newsgroup for
an osql batch file you can schedule with windows task scheduler - I've done
some batch files that backup, delete old backup, then move new backup to
another computer; if you only have one computer at the store, run to office
max and buy a cheap external drive. The nice thing about a scheduled backup
is that you can backup frequently during the day, minimizing the amount of
data you may lose due to a hard drive crash.

Back to your issue - export the crashed store database from HQ
Administrator; backup the exported store database (bck file) then take that
bck file to your crashed store location; reinstall RMS and restore your
database. If you have been exchanging daily you will have only lost one days
worth of transactions. - Hope this helps.....
