We have RMS SO 1.3 and trying to figure out when to use a voucher? We offer
plastic Gift Cards already. But for offering store credit could we use
vouchers instead. Any input as to how vouchers are treated differently from
Gift cards?

Thx for your thoughts and guidance.

MOI,

This is no difference between them. Gift Card/Certificate/Voucher are all
the same. Just that different industries call them different names.

I beg to differ with Jeff in RMS. It treats vouchers differently than a
gift certificate. IT will keep track of amounts left on a voucher.

I agree with Jeff. Gift Certificates are set up as Vouchers, so essentially
they are the same thing. I have no idea how you would set up a gift
certificate in RMS if you didn't set it up as a voucher. Some places call
them certificates, some call them cards, but they are both handled the same
way.

Elizabeth,

It will keep track your gift certs too. Do your customers always use the
entire gift cert amount?

We have convinced almost all of our customers to have one thing, a gift
card. This will handle credits, returns, gifts, refunds, whatever.

Money never leaves the drawer after a sale.
