find window problems

When we try to find an item in Pos and then hit escape to close the find
window, it puts an item into the transaction . It's always the same item,
even though this item is in the middle of the items, not at the beginning or
end. This started happening after we upgraded to 1.3R. It's causing a
problem when we're busy, since we don't always catch it until after we print
a receipt. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening, and how we can stop
it?

Here are the steps to replicate this problem. Type in an ILC that's not in
your database, to simulate an item not found. Press escape or click on
close. The find window will pop up. Hit escape again, and an item will get
put on the transaction screen.

Can't duplicate it here.

How are the following items marked in Manager | Configuration | Options tab
| Items options;

Always display 'Find' ...
Display out of stock
Display unknown item
Look up unknown items

I have them all checked except for the first normally, although I think I
have tried all combos!

You must be using Outlook Express or some other type of newsgroup reader to
see and download the file attachment. If you are not using a reader, follow
the link below to setup Outlook Express. Click on "Open with newsreader"
under the MS Retail Management System on the right.
