If you set up a Mix and Match quantity discount there seems to be a problem
when doing returns! If the person meets the quantity they receive the special
Mix and Match discount price but when doing a return for the same items that
also meet the Mix and Match they receive a return for the full price of the
items. Not a profitable set-up!

Yes, I have posted this as a suggestion in the past. I was VERY surprised to
see how little response there was to that fact. It is a glaring problem to
me. I would call it a bug, as I could not believe they would set it up like
that on purpose.

Hi Norm - I believe if you recall the transaction for return the prices the
items were sold for (after the mix and match discount kicked in) would be the
prices used on the return; also, always require original receipts on
exchanges and returns so you can view the price the items were sold for; I
guess the issue is, what if they are returning the items after you
implemented the mix and match discount scheme? The return receipt would
credit a lower price than they paid for.
It could get pretty tricky...you'd then have to increase the return price to
refund the higher amount they paid on the original transaction....

Yes doing a transaction recall will work fine but many times the clerks do
not remember to do so and use the CTRL F4 and the results are that the items
are returned at the full price and not the Mix & Match discount price like
when they were sold. Why should any POS system allow discounted items to be
returned at their full price if the meet the discount set-up and were sold at
discount? If any retailer takes the time to set-up Mix & Match Discounts it
should work for a sale and for returns no matter which method is used to do
the returns.
I do think it is a bug in RMS and needs looking into

Norm,

How is the program to know how it was sold without you telling it? =
That's why you need to do the Ctrl+F4 to do the return correctly.
