I loaded 2 windows updates from microsoft this morning. KB911562 & KB912812.
Now when I try to open the manager program on this system it tells me "active
x cannot create item" or something like that then I get "runtime error 429".
Can anyone help me with this please? I am dialing into the system from a
remote location. I thought about uninstalling the update but windows 98
doesnt show these two updates. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Larry

Larry,

1> I would think about updating to XP as support for Win98 is going away
next month.

2> I would try installing the latest MDAC 2.8 SP1 from here

3> For KB 912812 look at the info here for problems with it

If all else fails, re-install RMS

Jeff,

Is there anyway to uninstall the last windows update that caused this problem?

Larry,

I didn't see any options to. Did you try re-installing RMS?

Larry,

Maybe some more info http://tinyurl.com/z6eee

Again, it sounds like a MDAC issue. Either install the latest MDAC, try
running a repair of RMS, or if that doesn't work, re-install.
