In an older version of Quickbooks there was a pretty generic search feature.
You put in a word, phrase, figure, etc and it searched EVERYTHING.
Descriptions, memos, etc, etc,

While the newer search is nice for qualifying sometimes it would be nice to
have that old brute force search back, Is there anyway to do that? I am
running QB 2004 contractor edition.

Perhaps with the installation of Google search the beast would return. I do
not know for certain, installation of this feature slows things therefore
I do not have it installed. Also I'm not sure Google search was available in
your old QB 2004 software.

Yeah it was a little slower, but when you were looking for something obscure
it would find it.

GoogleSearch was not available with the QB 2004 software. I don't think it
introduced until 2008 or 2009. I've never installed it because all it does
is slow down your computer.
