I am doing a semi-audit, I am not a CPA or bookkeeper. The creepy
person gave me a QB data file on ROM but my QB 2005 says it cannot
ready the file.

The person probably had 2008 and said I may need to upgrade, Any
ideas? The upgrade is $180 for single user. I may check eBay for a
2007 or 2008 copy. Thanks for any help.

I assume you mean "read". No.

Buy a copy of QB2009. It can read 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 files. It
will convert the earlier files so you cannot make changes and return to
client, but you will be able to read and work with them.

OfficeMax and others have had it on sale recently for $100.

$99 at Office Depot on sale. How easy is the upgrade? I worry it
might wipe out my QB 2005.
