We have been using Contracotor Edition 2004 for ages and ages. It works
just fine, and we have no need to upgrade except... We only have one client
license. This means we can only connect to the database from one computer
at a time. In the past it was no big deal as all our accounting was done
from one room. Recently we moved into a bigger facility with a warehouse
and 3 room office. Its a bit of a pain to yell up front, "Hey Log off
Quickbooks," now, from the back of the warehouse.
In addition we are looking at some VPN applications. I was looking at
picking up a couple extra client licenses, but I see Intuit no longer offers
support for 2004 Contractor Edition.
What the heck I figured. I'll just upgrade. Then I see they seem to no
longer offer a contractor edition. What is the deal. Will my contractor
edition database transfer to a new version of quick books or not? What
about all the templates I have built up?
Anyway...
