Ok Folks, I've had some weird problems but this one takes it. I'm using
QB 2007 Pro with Intuit merchant services. Forever, when I run a credit
card QB prints a "RCPT" with a "Quickbooks Trans No". This morning I sat
down to run last week's deposits and discovered that the last few days
this RCPT number was blank. The words "Quickbooks Trans No" are there
but there is no number.

I called QB, they didn't know and told me to call Merchant Service, they
didn't know. So, I'm not lost without this "Quickbooks Trans No" but
life is a helluva lot easier with it. I've looked all over for a
solution to this mystery. Anyone have any idea?
Tnx,
Dusty

Yes, you didn't assign one.

I noticed a change recently. In the past it seems a random number was assigned.
Now it seems to take the value of the memo field for the number. Blank memo =
blank transaction number.

Suggestion, enter the invoice number in the memo fields.

Nope, I entered a number in the memo field and when printed there was no
number. Just as an aside, the number I'm refering to was not a random
number, it was sequential. Each credit card transaction was assigned the
next number in the "Quickbooks Trans No" field. From what I can tell
this number quit printing right around 8/26 or so.

Don't use CC's so no direct input but some other fields seem to be
dependent on previous value in the field (previous transaction).

Try entering a value manually and then see if it will increment from
there again automagically.

This is not a field that takes any input. This is a field that has
always (been using it for several years)been assigned by the system,
just a sequential number used to match up RCPTs with entries in the
"Make Deposits" Window. I'm stumped
