Sorry for the misleading Subject title...

Hi folks

We recently made a payment to our credit card account which consisted of
several cheques and cash. Normally we would make payments by bank transfer.

Usually I would simply enter the payment as a transfer from our cheque
account, but in this instance I am not sure what to do. There doesn't seem
to be a facility in which to enter a deposit directly into a credit card
account... or am I missing something!

My question is how do I enter a multi-cheque and cash payment into a credit
card account within QuickBooks Pro 2005/6?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ivan

Don't understand "multi-cheque". Is that you wrote cheques from several of your
accounts to the credit card account? Is that you had them credit several
cheques
from your customers?

Well, in any case you can always make a journal entry.

Don't make a journal entry to pay a credit card. You can't use a deposit
window to do this.

Just use the "write a check" window. Payee will be the credit card company,
and under the "expenses" tab you enter the name of that credit card account.

The cash payment would work the same way, except you'll be writing an
imaginary "check" from the petty cash account.
