I am assisting my neighbor with his small business and we've run into
a problem with his company file. Initially he told me they couldn't
open it with an error code of -6190, -83. I researched it and found
out that the problem was that one of the PC's was set into host mode
and shouldn't have been. After correcting that he started getting
-6150, -83 errors and is unable to open the file.

I researched Ituit's support forums but didn't find anything there
specifically decribing our situation. The only references were to MAC
to PC file conversions and additional error codes that we do not get.
I re-installed Quickbooks both on the data server and on the desktop
to no avail.

I am not by any stretch of the imagination a QB expert. I am a
Network Admin/Designer who is just trying to help out. Any ides that
anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. If you need more
specific info, please let me know and I will post whatever is
necessary to resolve this. Thanks in advance for any help you can
give me.
