Error reinstalling QB Pro 2005 after HDD Issue Joe 07-22-2007

Hello
I had to replace a Hard Drive--I have current backups--and, when I
went to reinstall QB Pro 2005 on the XP Home system, there were
issues.

Started with a Flash Player problem but that was solved by using the
web help suggestion of installing from the QBooks folder on the CD
rather than the auto install.

Then, went to errors 1935(mumbling about Net Framework) and 2908 which
offer no reasonable soluton.

At
http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/dosearch.aspx?kbID=a5fe2972
and Re the 1935, the WSup.exe WToolsA.exe WToolsS.exe processes
were/are not running and the anti virus is disabled. The remaining
steps 4 - 7 were followed to no avail.

I just hate to reward Intuit the $$$ for assistance with a simple
installation of their product--but will if necessary.

Has anyone seen these errors and able to get past them?

I appreciate any and all assistance.
Thanks
Joe

Google for "2908" yields over 10 million hits. The first of which,
"Troubleshooting 1935 and 2008 errors during installation" can be accessed
here:

http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2004/11/10/255346.aspx

Refining the Google search to "1935+2008+QB" generated a mere 27,900 hits.
The first of these is:

Hope this helps.
