There are 2 files in my QuickBooks folder. One is named -
Company.qbw.ND & the other is named Company.qbw.TLG. Can someone tell
me what these files are? If I'm copying the QuickBooks files to a
laptop, do I need these?

        Many thanks.

The ND file is the Network Data file that contains the configuration to
allow access to the QB company file.

The TLG file is a transaction log that gets recreated with each backup file.
If there is a problem with your QBW file Intuit will use the contents of
this file to rebuild your company file.

According to Intuit, you should not delete these files.

When you want to transfer a company file to another computer, you should use
either a backup or Portable company file that you restore on the other
computer. That will insure that all necessary bits and pieces of your
company file are transfered to the other computer.

If a QB backup is done with full verify the TLG file is purged.

That is what is supposed to happen but we've had discussions in the past
month that demonstrates that is not always the case.

The same thing can be said for automobile brakes.
