Help adding to owner equity! Jeff S 07-24-2007

As owner of my sole proprietor company I am trying to add some money to my
business. When I enter through Owner Equity account, it doesn't show up in
my bank account and I can't find the addition in my reports. What am I
doing wrong? and why is it so difficult to add equity. It seems to me,
especially with small businesses, that it is not uncommon to add a little
more money to keep things going from time to time.
Any help appreciated.

In your chart of accounts under the Owners Capital create sub accounts Owner
Investment account and an Owner Draw account. Then when you wish to add
money click on Record Deposits. In the "From Account" drop down choose the
Owners Investment account whenever you deposit money into your business.
