My current QuickBooks for a club is in great need of starting over.
There have been numerous instances of incorrect invoicing, customer
receipts, etc. that makes the Balance Sheet impossible to make correct.
Therefore, I would like to start over "clean". Is there a way to
import only the customer list and chart of accounts without the current
values associated with them?

Export what you want to an Excel spreadsheet and turn it into an iif
file to import.

You dont need to go through Excel:
In old file, click on File then Export then Lists to IIF (words will
vary depending on what versions you have). Choose everything and save
the iif file
Set up a new Quick Books file, specifying that you will add the
accounts later, rather than choosing from the templates of pre-set
accounts.
Once the new file is open, click on File then Import then IIF files
and choose the one you created in the first step.
Voila!!
good luck
