Peter

I guess QB 2004 Pro doesn't have that feature. I have tried to customize
the invoice to find such an option but cannot find it.

Maybe I just don't know how to activate it.

I'm using an even older version so I'll not speculate on what is/isn't
the actual implementation in QB '04, but...

While an invoice is open, go to the "How Do I?" help button and look
through the menu choices -- under "Receive payments and..." there's an
item on that submenu of "Enter a payment when customer has credit" that
explains how to make it happen automagically.

Assuming the help topics headings are similar that should lead you to
the applicable steps for your version.

DPB:

Thanks for the info, I have that in my qb2004 and will play with it to
see what I can do with it.
