 I have a one company (file) in Quickbooks that has a vendor list.
These vendors will be my customers in a new company. Can I import the
vendor list into the other file?

From the original company, export the file. Then import in the new company.

Wouldn't they import as vendors since the export has them listed as such?

I'd think the OP would need to export both a customer & vendor list and
open in Excel.

The customer list will give him the correct headers & field names so he
can apply them in the vendor list file.

Hope that makes sense.
