Frank,
I am involved in a project to update QuickBooks via orders placed via the
web. I have spent a great deal of time with the web designers in the exact
format of the information, the flow of information, who is responsible for
different aspects. The flow chart took as much time as design, lol.
There are many compromises you will have to live with importing the
transaction via an import. QB does have add-on programs to input
transactions, and perhaps you can find one that meets your needs (my needs
were simple, so I didn't look very hard)
http://marketplace.intuit.com/Default.asp is one place to look if you
already haven't.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions
