After posting this question I searched (...was led to Intuit's
marketplace) and found a tool by http://www.dyve.com/ that enables the
upload. I had to contact the company and they provided the utility for
free. I haven't tested it yet...but it looks pretty good. BobS

I was going to suggest Big Red Consulting's IIF transaction creator:
http://www.bigredconsulting.com/AboutCreator.htm
I have used it several times for importing Credit card transactions into QB
that were downloaded into excel.

The JV upload utility from Dynamic Ventures worked quite well. The
documentation is thorough and clearly presented. Of course, one has to
be spot on with the data attributes...otherwise it will not pass the
validation. I tested everything on the sample company first (i.e.
prior to testing on the sample company, I had to upload my company's
COA to the sample company). We plan to use this tool going forward.
